Barra is served by British Airways from Glasgow (landing on the spectacular Cockle Strand beach), and by Caledonian MacBrayne ferries from Oban (capacity 600 passengers and 90 cars) to Castlebay, and from Eriskay (capacity 150 passengers & 24 cars) to Ardmhor.

FROM CASTLEBAY (5.0 miles)  At the T-junction at the top of the exit road from the ferry terminal turn right, signposted Bagh a Tuath (Northbay.)  After 2.5 miles enter Earsairidh (Earsary), then drive through Rubha Lios (Rhulios) and Buaile nam Bodach (Bolnabodach.) Entering Morghan, Northbay House is 300 yards ahead on the left. FROM THE AIRPORT (3.5 miles)  Turn left out of the car-park, following the main road through Aird Mhithinis (Ardveenish) to enter Bagh a Tuath (Northbay.) Turn left, signposted Bagh a Chaisteil (Castlebay – east side) and follow the main road  passing through Bogach to enter Morghan, where Northbay House is on the right at the head of Loch na Obe. FROM ARDMHOR (2.5 miles)  Follow the road from the ferry terminal to T-junction, then turn left (signposted Bagh a Chaistel) on the main road passing through Aird Mhithinis (Ardveenish) to enter Bagh a Tuath (Northbay.) Turn left, signposted Bagh a Chaisteil (Castlebay – east side) and follow the main road passing through Bogach to enter Morghan.  Northbay House is on the right at the head of Loch na Obe.
